After my first solo exhibition I felt the need to move on to another media challenge, I choose wood which was the opposite of working on a two dimensional surface. I began by consciously selecting different coloured wood, grains and density.
Wood appealed to my new found sensibilities and artistic challenges. My works were sculptural reliefs that combined painting and sculpture. I incorporated the traditional Igbo palette white-Nzu, Uhia-red, ochre-odo, Uli - blue and black which is achieved with a acetylene torch and numerous other elements.
