Exhibitions
I have had numerous solo and group exhibitions using different media. This section shows an insight into new themes, such as slavery, new works and future exhibitions featuring new paintings.
I reinvented myself in the month of June 2004. The call was of vibrant colours. I was propelled to paint with such urgency that it was almost feverpitched.
I heeded the passionate call of my creative instincts.
Some of the paintings are derived from Uli a traditional form of painting specific to the Igbo women from the Southeastern part of Nigeria, who paint on the body and walls of their homes. Uli is a monochromatic from of painting that derives its motifs from the linear configurations that occur in nature.
Other large canvases gave me the freedom to play with abstraction, positive and negative spaces as well as the lyrical and rhythmic (perhaps reminisces from my musical background) movement of my brush washes, strokes, colours, textures and form.
